k, I have found a problem, and I can now achieve the same performance as 0.70 release (speed wise). However I want a break, so ill leave this for now.

To answer your question, try WinUAE changing CPU from 68000 to 68040, and you will notice no visable difference (imho).

maybe you have always got JIT switched on,  but this is -so- not true! the fact is many games etc wont take advantage of the extra clock time properly. Its about finding something that actually uses the extra cpu well.

i think there is also the matter of running "max" cpu that you see no difference. If you put speed to "real" you'll notice a big shift in speed on winuae with some tasks (workbench icon refreshes are a good example) , i suspect not on PSPUAE becuase it simply has got the speed to add that extra time for the spu cycles - as a result the extra cpus are there only for compatibility (68020 on pspuae is very useful in that respect)

Nice work.

By the way have you seen this comment http://pspupdates.qj.net/PSP-Homebrew-PSPUAE-0-71/pg/49/aid/116317#comments

I'd have corrected the idiot but that darn site doesn't ever send me a confirmation email (yeah I checked spam and trash folders) to activate an account so I can comment.

typical QJ net. he's a moron if he cant find anything to play, since there are now a few games less than 1 fps under fullspeed.... hell, sometimes you can even -get- fullspeed!

i am not registering just to correct his idiocy. i'll let FOL deal with it

LMFAO, nice reply over at QJ. Im unable to login, lost password and they have disabled the password recovery and registration.
Anyways, im not thinking about PSPUAE for the moment, am working on my house.

Fact is, current release is slower, my fault. It will have to wait, Smiley. As you guys know, the current test version is on par with 0.70 speed wise, and I think I need to have another look at the cycle unit. Anyways, hopefully, Ill come back to good reports on test version.

The main issue was the bug fixes from the 0.70 release FOL - (In my eyes, at least)

It warranted a new release on those issues alone buddy. You fixed the savestate bug which was a big thing for me personally. The frameskip reversion was a small problem, didn't bother me much.

As for more speed? Nah......Gissus Da good sound man, your AI sound option appears to improve sound crackle with some games, ok - not all but a step closer and I appreciate it.

Go Fix up the house and chill FOL, then if you want to take another crack at improvements, were all ready to back you up, especially that Horace Chap - you should get married - you both bitch like a couple, then kiss and make up in the chat!  Embarrassed

Just to put the record straight. People are expecting to much from me, my changes are a stop gap, while we wait for chilly's release.

Im already making UAE do things IT SHOULD'NT, just to give you all more speed. Im sure I have squeezed as much out of PSPUAE 0.70 as I can. I say 0.70 simply cause 0.71, as explained, I missed a mistake in the makefile, which made it slightly slower).

After I have had a break, I will correct makefile (to get it up to 0.70 speed) and try tweaking the cpu code. Dont expect any more speed increases as its maxed as it is.

As I have said before, if people are going to moan about speed and say they cant play anything on it, then all I can say is good day, Smiley

Just spotted you on PSP hacks FOL

I cocked up the make file, missed it for some reason. So the speed is slower than 0.70. Only slightly, I need to do some more tweaking, but that can wait, while I have a break.

You didn't cock up, you fixed the bugs! dont do yourself down! I'm using it happily - thanx  Kiss

Well, That was a crucial mistake, Sad. So I mentioned it there, as I mentioned here. I think the key is trying to get the CHIPSET balance right and the Auto Frameskip. As I have already mentioned, we are already making UAE do stuff its not ment to do. We have just been lucky it has'nt screwed to many games up (compatability wise).
